Chinese fire cupping has been used in China for thousands of years. Traditionally, glass cups are used and the vacuum is created using an open flame. Affecting the QI and blood flow, it helps in the treatment of the common cold, back pain, knotted nerves and muscles.
First, the therapist will warm your tissues with oil and a light massage. Then heat is created and swished around a glass cup and applied to the surface of the skin. You’ll the experience a warm suction-like feel on your skin. The therapist lets you rest for 10-15mins. The suction created will help bring up any bad/stagnant blood that is in the affected tissue to the surface to make room for fresh blood to enter the tissue. Clients tend to feel extremely relaxed. The spots left on skin last up to 4 to 5 days.
